AN EMERALD CITY (NZL)

We’re all for diversity at Ieperfest, and that’s why we are delighted to present you the experimental, psychedelic oriental tunes of AN EMERALD CITY! Formed in late 2005, this six-piece based in Auckland, New Zealand, have created a sound that combines Eastern traditional instruments and psychedelic leanings with experimentation and musical liberation. Instrumental, thoughtful songs created by guitars, drums, sitars, violins, a Persian long necked lute, table, daabuka, piano and percussion found from various reaches of the universe. Their first release, a self-titled EP, is out since late 2007 and was promoted by a long list of gigs all over their home country. Early January 2009, the band recorded their debut full-length in an isolated cave on the rugged West Coast of Auckland.
