On the Prowl

Well you’re wasted now,
Toasted and how
Time to hit the street.
Let them hear your growl,
Testosterone on the prowl
Shake them kempo feet.
Now you’re in the zone,
Time to crack some bone

You told your boss to shove it,
The pay just wouldn’t cut it
Your best bet now is crime.
Your girlfriend just left ya
She would no longer support ya
You were living on borrowed time
Smashed dreams of champagne and caviar
Diluted to crackers and cheap wine

So now you wanna dance
Let your mind lose control
You just want to dance
Light distraction for the soul
Ah, just dance
Tell yourself you just don’t care
Let’s dance
You decide you’ve had your share
Now you’re in the zone
It’s time to crack some bone

Your steps are syncopated
That last swing didn’t make it
You slowly lose your feel
It doesn’t even matter anymore
You have finally hit the floor
And now it’s time to kneel
You black out before you go down
Bye bye

So you had to dance
Let your mind lose control
You just had to dance
Light distraction for the soul
Ah, dance
Tell yourself you just don’t care
Just dance
You decide you’ve had your share
Now you’re on the floor
You won’t dance no more

Candy Song

Love it
Take it
Taste it
Face it

My love is all that I can offer you
My love
Is sweet
You’ll score just for the heck of it
Just ‘cause
It’s a treat
You’ve got a sweet tooth for me
You’ve got a sweet tooth

Check it
Dig it

My love is all you’ll ever want from me
It’s all
You need
We know you’ll be coming back for more
Makes you
Complete
You’ve got a sweet tooth for me
You’ve got a sweet tooth

Love it
Take it
Face it
Now
Taste it
Dig it
Do it
Now

I got a Friend

I got a friend
A friend who’s in tears
She doesn’t know where to go
My friend won’t complain
But she’s grasping at straws
All she can do
Is hide in shame

When she asks
I tell her I don’t know
I really don’t know

I got a friend
A friend who’s in shambles
He doesn’t know what to do
My friend won’t complain
But you see he’s hurt
All he can do
Is take the blame

When he asks
I tell him I don’t know
Because I really don’t know

And when I ask
They tell me they just don’t know
That’s just how the story goes

Streets of Needs

Coat zipper’s up
Head hangs down
Led by a feeling
that is
always around
Checking out the goods
behind the dirty glass
Thinking oh man
this one is
top class

But love, love is never for free
Love, love is never for free

The ride of his life
for a bargain price
But she’s just looking
with those
glassy eyes
He gets mad and he
drives up the speed, but her
gear don’t change
this one’s
neutral or leave

‘cause love, love is never for free
Love, love is never for free
Don’t get lost in the streets of needs
The dirty outback of the
city that never sleeps
Only thing you’ll get is a feeling of disgrace
Because it ain’t just the bank they break
It’s your dignity they take

Time runs out
he swiftly leaves
Minutes later there’s the next
one to please
Thinking that it will
change how they feel
but the walk of shame is the only
thing that’s real

‘cause love, love is never for free
Love, love is never for free

FAQ

Q:Who are you?
A: Who we are is not important. Everything changes, we adapt. You can call us Grim, and we're having fun despite the random grimness. We are While E. Grim, Bennie Grim and Johnny Grim.

Q: Explain the names
A: Grim obviously refers to the bluesy part. Life can be tough and we’ve all had our share. Grim is a good alias. The Ramones were a source of inspiration there: let’s forget about the details, somewhere along the line people say: ”I understand”, because they’ve been there. Grimsby Road is where those people meet and forget. The first names are an extension of our personalities. While E. is the grumpy senior, the cynical bastard. When you hear an aggressive tone in a song, it’s probably While E. ranting. Bennie is obviously the drummer. He uses his skins to disturb you. That’s why insiders call him the dandy. Johnny is a mystery, we won’t go into any detail, he’s the quiet one. Wearing the same jacket every gig might have given him this sticky name.

Q:What genre do you fit into?
A:Rock’n roll. Our music is based on blues and early rock’n roll, but since we are no academics we play with a punk attitude. So rock’n roll it is. We basically want to headbutt you towards the crossroads. When Robert Johnson was hanging around at the crossroads, a gandy dancer came to him and asked: “Any chance you could show us the road to Grimsby?” It is said that Johnson frowned.

Q:What do you write about?
A:Things we know of, things that anger us, things that endear us … We usually start from a metropolis. Myriads of people living in close proximity. In Grimsby Road they all come together and sometimes it gets ugly.
