Mailinator |
Someone asks for
your email. You
know if you give it, you're gambling with your privacy. On the other
hand, you do want at least one message from that person. The answer is
to give them a mailinator address. You don't need to sign-up. You just
make it up on the spot. Pick jonesy@mailinator.com or
bipster@mailinator.com - pick anything you want (up to 15 characters
before the @ sign). Later, come to this site and check that
account. |

Rot13 encryption

|
Through Proxify,
you can use websites but they cannot uniquely
identify or track you. Unlike other proxies,
there is no software to install or complicated
instructions to follow. Proxify hides your IP address and the encrypted
connection prevents monitoring of your network traffic. Once using
Proxify, you can surf normally and forget that it is there, protecting
you.

Yahoo online
briefcase (storage)
|
Yahoo! Briefcase
is a tool that allows you to store files online and
then access them from anywhere. Think of it as an extra hard drive that
you can use from any computer connected to the Internet. We give you
30MB worth of space for free, to
get you started.
That's room for plenty of files. There's no catch -- you just have to
be a registered Yahoo! member. |

File extension info
|
FILExt is a
detailed database of file extensions and programs that use them. FILExt
is not a general support site. A search on the
database here might very well result in multiple possibilities; it will
be up to you to determine which, if any, of these are the
program/format you require information about. To help, many of the
links on this site will open a new browser window so you have constant
reference to the FILExt data. |

Password-crackers
|
Word 97/2000 (as
well as Word XP in default mode) password protection uses strong enough
encryption algorithm, but because of U.S. crypto export regulations key
length is only 40 bits. So, you need to test only 240 keys
(not passwords) to decrypt your file with guarantee. GuaWord does it,
and key testing will take about 20 days only on the same Pentium
III/800 PC. Within this time (and in average within the half of this
time) ANY file, encrypted with ANY password (no matter what length of
the password is or what language or symbols used, etc) can be decrypted.
