How to make your CPC128 boot from a 51/4" drive

Hardware modifications

First connect a 51/4 " floppy drive at the rear connector and be sure it works correctly as a b: drive

Open your CPC6128 and  disconnect the 3" drive  .

Make then a wire from connection 4 of the 3"drive flatcable (drive select 0) to your floppy connector 10 (drive select 0)and select DS0 on your 51/4" floppy drive

Your b: drive is now your a: drive

Software

Write the image of the boot disk to a 51/4" 360K floppy disk on your PC and boot your computer now on the 51/4" drive.

For helping people that make image files with another  software tool discribed hereLECTEUR 3'1/2 (interne) sur 6128 - Phenixinformatique.com, Amstrad CPC pour toujours  I  put here 3 image discs (CP/M 3.0-CP/M 2.2 and ODDJOB ) in the DSK format  CPC1.DSK CPC2.DSK CPC5.DSK which can help yoy to write your own boot discs on another support  than 3"disk drives.

My spare parts
