How to make your boot disk for your Z100 ---------------------------------------- START ON YOUR WINDOWS COMPUTER ------------------------ Make new directory under my documents with the name test Download ImageDisk 1.17 on http://www.classiccmp.org/dunfield/img/index.htm to test Unpack all files and copy them to test Copy all the unpacked files to a 3 1/2 1,44 Mb discette Find and activate on the above website the link System/Instaal disks Find and activate in the list Heath/Zenith Z100 Open the files and copy them to the same 1,44 Mb discette CPM85D1.IMD is sufficiant to make a CP/M 85 boot disk NOW GO TO YOUR OLD 386 OR 486 COMPUTER -------------------------------------- Go with this discette to your old PC that runs DOS , do not activate windows This PC needs a 1,44 Mb drive as A: and a 360k drive as B: and of course C: as a hard disk. Goto C: Make a directory IMD (MD IMD) Go to that directory.(CD IMD) Copy a:*.* c: /v to copy all files from a: to c: Start program IMD push ESC after start Goto Settings Select drive B: Select 40 tracks Select 2 sides Double step=off Full analysis=on Interleave=1 ESC to end settings session Now Write disk Choose file CPM85D1 Disk is now written and you can use it as a boot disk in your Z100 If you should have errors by writing to the 5 1/4" disk , first format the disk with 8 sectors/track 512 Bytes per sector and with Double density at speed of 250kb/sec
