Puzzles are very important tools to train and entertain children with autism. The obsession to have everything matched till there are no pieces left is for many of these children the reason why puzzling is their favorite activity. Look at the PEP-R scores of your child on the cow- and cat-puzzles. You'll see that when the interlocking jig-saw puzzle is replaced by a mosaic, the child has to look at the picture and needs some cognition of the body-schedule, and top and bottom. The items below contain different dimensions: even if the child has already some puzzle-skills, it is confronted with new challenges.
