DETOLLENAERE
Born in 1957 and living in Deinze (Belgium), married to Catherine and father
of Frederik and Annelien.
Beside my busy professional life as purchase and logistic manager in an
electro-optical company, I try to spend leisure time with photography.
During my youth, I used to work with my Praktica MTL 3. Also during the
childhood of my son and daughter, I often made use of this camera.
Due to the fact that photography was put on a back burner during a while, this
leisure has now become a true passion.
Since 1998, passionated by the black and white photography, I still find pleasure
in spending hours and hours in my dark room, a place for peace and creativity.
Fascinated by the character and emotion of human beings and coutryside, I am
rather searching for the emotion behind the scenes, less than searching for pure
beauty.
As a member of a group of photographers : (f)ART, a bunch of enthusiastic
friends in the neighbourhood of Ghent sharing the same passion, I am supervising
the P.R. and mastering the website.

Slowly stepping into the era of digitalized photography, in my case by
scanning my negatives or photos and edit them in Photoshop, I am convinced that
digital photography is an ideal tool to design websites or edit publications,
however I still prefer an absolutely beautiful fiberbased paper print.
