CORRUPTED MELODY - INNER I

STF RECORDS

Metal To Infinity

Hard times to write positive comment on a band like Corrupted Melody.  This band is hailing from Slovakia, and seems to deliver an atmospheric Mystic Metal orgy of 10 songs that have head nor tail…  Vocals are interactions between male and female, but they don’t seem to fit together during one track… I wonder what this band was thinking when they recorded this album. The ‘Inner I’ indicates that the way to success can be a hard and lonely way, on a path full of danger. I’m pretty sure that they won’t reach their goal…

Musical wise, I have to say that the guitars are pretty okay, it seems like there are musicians in this band that have skills to play the strings. But playing the strings doesn’t automatically results in great songs…  There is no coherence, the breaks in the songs are too numerous, so you really don’t know what track you are listening. This is a roller coaster, but it’s a bad one…

The only positive note that I can add is the front cover artwork, and it’s typically that this piece of art is made by a real artist…  The seven people of Corrupted Melody might have a great time together. Well, keep it that way, amuse yourself, but please don’t bother the rest of the world with this corrupted melodies…

My Rating: 35 / 100 (which includes 20 points for the artwork) – Review by Patrick De Sloover
