FORGOTTEN SUNS - REVELATIONS

PATHFINDER RECORDS
Metal To Infinity
From
Portugal I’d like to represent you to Forgotten Suns. If you don’t know the
band I advise you to remember this name because I have some kind of feeling we
will hear from them in the future. These guys released a debut album called
“Innergy” and it is added on my ‘have to buy’ list. Why? Because this is
a band with a lot of potential and with so much skills they must convince a wide
bench of Metal heads.
Forgotten
Suns is in the first place a Progressive Metal band but a major difference
between them and many others is that melody is at least as important as the
instrumental performances. The band is really searching for these special kind
of arrangements that takes the listener by the throat and they easily succeed in
reaching that goal. The varied arrangements are exciting from the beginning
until the end and the reason for it is that Forgotten Suns sounds as a team,
really a strong team. Every single musician is able to express himself on this
release and the pleasure these guys had while recording this record drips out of
this silver disc!
This
EP is full of spectacular and emotional played guitar solos, incredible strong
riffs, technical played drums and above awesome vocals. The vocal lines are
emotional and this front man has the perfect timbre for this kind of Metal.
The
band reminds me, talking about the sound and not the music, to Pathos which
was/is a fantastic technical Thrash band from Sweden. Forgotten Suns has nothing
to do with Thrash but creates that same dark atmosphere that made me worship
this band… Bands that musical wise crosses my mind are Evergrey and Kamelot
although Forgotten Suns sounds better than what I’ve heard from these bands
the last years. And yes, Evergrey is one of my favorite formations...
This
is a fantastic EP that fans of melodic Progressive Metal really need to check it
out. Especially the fifteen minutes during “Betrayed” is outstanding and
proves how professional these guys really are! I am thrilled and surprised by
this EP, a ‘must have’! I am convinced this band is strong enough to
convince one or another label too. Portugal isn’t that far from Belgium so why
shouldn’t I hope to see this band on stage soon. Great release you can check

My points: 90 / 100 (Review by Officer Nice)
