KAOS - VALIDATED IN BLOOD

MALEVOLENCE RECORDS

Metal To Infinity

From Hayward California USA, KAOS came into my life with the album “Kaos Among Us”, released through Malevolence Records back in 2006. Name of the game back then can be described as Thrash Metal and very pleasant fact to me, all of the tracks were composed with a lethal dose of Bay Area influences. Bay Area Thrash Metal conquered my soul way back in the eighties (bands: Forbidden, Death Angel, Vio-lence, Exodus, Slayer, Testament, Atrophy, Dark Angel, Hallows Eve and so many others)… after more than three decades, my interest in this type of music is still present and I won’t let it loose, hell no!

Kaos was formed in 1988, released a few self-financed recordings but as time passed by new blood entered the ranks and they became stronger and stronger. The band came in contact with Nathan from Malevolence Records and signed a deal which was a present from heaven for the guys in Kaos. I’d like to call it well deserved because their debut effort “Kaos Among Us” proved they were really good servants in Thrash Metal. Delivering their stuff just like in the good old days and I believed that Kaos could be the most promising revelation in the fields of thrash. My faith in the band became reality - a second album saw daylight in 2010, entitled “The Pits Of Existence” and released through Malevolence Records, Kaos sounded better than before… this effort was a killer one and made for all those into aggressive, technical Bay Area Thrash Metal (what did you expect?!). Wrapped as a professional looking digi-pack and  loaded with 11 tracks, “The Pits Of Existence” shows you all how to thrash as it should be.

Official output number three has been unleashed in April 2012 (again via Malevolence Records) – this time it’s a five track EP called “Validated In Blood”. Former album TPOE meant a lot to me, it fully pleased me and my expectations on the new EP were highly stretched. A promopack kindly sent by the band’s management under the leading force of Michelle Murray fell on my doormat and it doesn’t take much time before I gave the silver disc a few spins.

If you're not familiar with Kaos, feel free to watch for their new video trailer as posted HERE. You will get a perfect view about what Kaos is all about – feel the vocal aggression and loads of technical moves mainly offered by both guitar players. ‘United We Kill’ and ‘Internal Bleeding’ rush through your speakers with a devastating force and feels good to me. Kaos’ frontman screams it out with great dedication – total aggression reigns supreme within his throat. I also like the good variety based on the speed velocities – they know very well when it’s time to withdraw the accelerator pedal. But don’t worry, a bit later on they’re back in full force, as usual!  ‘Alive To Die’ has a more moderate pace but the aggression is still on – next ‘Blood Red Eyes’ opens all registers once again. It’s time to let yourself go wild and free on the almighty forces of Bay Area Thrash Metal… absolutely great song not require further explanation, just listen and ENJOY!

Last track of “Validated In Blood’ is the everything scorching cover entitled ‘Kill On Command’, originally recorded 1988 by one of my alltime and everlasting favourite US Thrash Metal bands named Vio-lence! Taking from the band’s legendary album “Eternal Nightmare” (Mechanic Records), no one can beat the originals but the way Kaos covers ‘Kill On Command’ is amazing. I don’t know for sure but I guess this is the first Vio-lence cover ever heard in my life. Right or wrong, true fact is that Kaos’ mission is totally succeeded and allows me to say, wonderful work guys!

“Validated In Blood” is become a very good EP and I will underline it one last time… Bay Area Thrash Metal maniacs longing to hear their stuff aggressive likewise Sadus, Slayer, Demolition Hammer, Recipients Of Death, Morbid Saint, Potential Threat, Hexx should have place an order right on HERE. European readers better take notice of the fact Kaos plays at the 2012 edition of Metal Over Oostrozebeke Festival (Belgium) that’ll take place July the 7th. In association with Malevolence Records, the bill is also loaded with other acts: Absentia, Septic Christ and T.C.F. More info on the festival at: www.myspace.com/metaloveroostrozebeke .
