LIBERTY N' JUSTICE - LIGHT IT UP
Metal To Infinity
I have to consider Liberty N’ Justice as a project or should I say it is a
band? For sure this is a 100% pure Rock / Christian Metal band and this
formation, around Justin Murr, was formed about 19 years ago. Ever since there
are already eight albums released and I’m quite sure Retroactive Records is
proud announcing this newbie. Why? Because Retroactive Records is actually
specialized in Christian Rock & Metal music and after I noticed some of the
musicians on this Liberty N’ Justice
album I can easily imagine they’re satisfied. If you’re not directly
interested in lyrics I am sure you might find interesting bands in this ‘style’.
Actually; is Christian Metal a style? That’s a rather difficult question
because in almost every particular subgenre you can find back Christian bands.
Anyway some representing websites do consider Christian Metal as a style…
as I’ve said before Justin Murr is the leading man of Liberty N’ Justice. He
didn’t do the job alone because this album contains the presence of
Phil Lewis (LA Guns), JK Northrup (King Kobra), Dale & Troy Thompson
(Bride), Lynn Louise Lowrey (Vixen), Eddie Ojeda (Twisted Sister), CJ Snare
& Bill Leverty (Firehouse), Ted Poley (Danger Danger), Vic Rivera (Crunch),
Les Carlson (Bloodgood), Oz Fox (Stryper), Sheldon Tarsha (Tarsha/Adler's
Appetite), Jeff Pilson (Dokken/Foreigner), Kelly Keeling (Baton Rouge/TSO),
Kerri Kelli (Alice Cooper), Pete Loran & Steve Brown (Trixter), Ron "Bumblefoot"
Thal (GNR/Lita Ford), Chris Jericho (WWE Wrestler/Fozzy), Phil Collen (Def
Leppard), Harry Hess & Pete Lesperance (Harem Scarem), Marq Torien (BulletBoys),
Chris Holmes (W.A.S.P.), Robert Mason (Warrant/Lynch Mob), Jerry Dixon
(Warrant), Shawn Pelata (Line Of Fire), Stephen Chesney (Frontiers) also
appearing are Eric Rango (Takara), Terry llous (XYZ), Marc Danzeisen (BulletBoys/Little
Caesar), Doug Odell (Crunch/TNA) & John Pine.
list, isn’t it? Lots of these bands were, back in the eighties, amazingly
spectacular in the so called “Hair Metal” scène and so I suppose it’s a
piece of cake to understand what kind of music you might expect right here!
least this release is full of good songs. Every track can be described as some
kind of Hard Rock or AOR. To me it’s just like you should put bands like
Guns’n Roses, Mr. Big, House Of Lords, Giant, Vixen, Bon Jovi, and for example
Nightranger in a blender. Every track has its catchy tunes, spectacular guitar
solos and outstanding vocal performances.
is my favorite track, breathing that mighty ‘Eighties’ atmosphere I have
always adored in this kind of music. Other fantastic songs are “Uncle Sam”,
“Wrestling With God” and “Best time we never had”. Heartbreaking ballads,
Hard Rocking songs and hot arrangements; all are foreseen. The song writing is
outstanding, the performances are superb! To be honest I didn’t hear any
weaknesses and the production is clear, ideal for this kind of music.
who are becoming nostalgic about the good old times of Glam Metal will be
astonished by this record. Liberty N’ Justice is in Europe totally infamous
and that’s such a shame because I’m convinced there is (still) a big crowd
for this kind of music. If every word I wrote sounds ‘like music in your ears’
I see no reason why you should doubt purchasing this CD at once… If you
still have reservations check http://www.myspace.com/libertynjustice2
or even CD-Baby (http://www.cdbaby.com).
