His paternal grandparents were Jacobus Rouvrois and Anne Marie Michiels; his maternal grandparents are Joseph Vanormelingen and Gertrude Vangaethoven. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Joannes (Jean), Joseph, Paul(us), Marie and Louise. He was the youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 80 on May 1st, 1945.
