Machiel Rubens 
Machiel was born in 1823 in Borgloon. Machiel's father was Franciscus (François) Rubens and his mother is Anna Maria Rouvrois. His maternal grandparents were Wery Rouvrois and Anna Maquoi (Macois). He has a brother and two sisters, named Frans, Anne Marie and Marie François. He is the oldest of the four children.
