Anyway whats a mashup... anyway
Come off it - you know that, surely. if not - this is what wikipedia has to say.
Mashup.
In web development, a mashup is a Web application that combines data from one or more sources into a single integrated tool. The term Mashup implies easy, fast integration, frequently done by access to open APIs and data sources to produce results that were not the original goal of the data owners. An example of a mashup is the use of cartographic data from Google Maps to add location information to real-estate data, thereby creating a new and distinct Web service that was not originally provided by either source.

Various Interesting Maps
Now this is cool. These guys have got the traffic and speed cameras and some live Motorway cams hooked up to a Google maps Mashup. Its here => Brussels and Antwerp Traffic. They are using the Google Maps API because with the locations pre-geoencoded. Anyways - good work I think.
The technology behind this is some simple sort of Ajax page, with on on the fly generated Georss files generated with PHP. They are using custom pushpins and they have pulled in some motorway cameras for good luck as a popup behaviour.
Safety Cameras as KMZ files
Also very cool - euro speed camers as kmz files - Mashup on this page => Euro Speed Cams. They are using the Google Maps API passing a kmz.
Matthias also offers loads of other formats for the database including an Iphone app for free that just might have me buying one!.
Brussels Wall - Art
This is nice, I think this chap has painstakingly photographed all this Comic themed wall art, Geocoded it and presented it on this website.
I need to do a bit more digging to see if it is a hardcoded georss file or somehow generated - nice either way.
More coming Soon
But dont be holding your breath or anything silly like that.
