15 Minutes of Fame The Vanity Page

Vanity. 15 minutes of fame. You don't exist unless you have a website, and other people know it. So, here's my vanity page : the proof that I exist. As a lame excuse ( as if I'd need one ...), I can pretend that I needed a page where I can link back to pages who link and/or refer to me. Yeah, sure.

The Search Engines

But first : the search engines. Or rather : Google. Everybody wants to be found by Google, and webmasters pay good money to learn the tricks or to buy advise from search engine strategists and web page optimizers. Male Cow Excrement. You score well in a Google search if you're web site or pages thereof are relevant to the search - and if your site is well designed. Yes, it's that simple. And it's also true for a lot of other search engines

• Where does Google take you if you need to know about building pyramids or igloos ?
• ... or if you're a nerd who wants to know about music and mathematics ?

Also : Does Yahoo know where I am ? Does Jeeves ? AltaVista ? ? Mama ? Of course they do. Even MSN Search does.
