When you first use LiHaLo, maybe the menu's look strange to you. It's not a drop-down menu,
like you used to see in most applications.
It's more a sliding-menu. You will get to know all the menu's if you continue to read this HOWTO . By the time you come to the end., you will have seen all the different menu's. This is only a short intoduction. Let us take a look at the MAIN MENU.
Menu's are reduced in size here.
When you start LiHaLo, you see the MAIN MENU as below :

So with some goodwill, you see 5 groups of menu's. Some of them (when clicked) give you a new menu and some of them don't.
New QSO will not let the page change, as you are now on the page to log a new qso.
EDIT QSl, SEARCH & STAT, VIEW and GROUP will give a new menu .
You can return to the start-page by clicking "MAIN".
Clicking Quick DX, Beam&Distance, CLUSTER and/or INFO lets pop-up a new window.
You can try them out now if you want.
Notice that when you click Beam&Distance , your locator is the one you filled-in in the config-page.
MISC Gives you also a new menu.
Click "MAIN" to return to the start-menu (= the MAIN menu).
CALL is something special. Fill-in e.g. your call and click it.
You'll get a pop-up window, that might look like the one you see in the picture below. Now you will understand what I was talking about in the configuration-page, about the bands and modes. What you see here is "my" selection. It may very well differ from yours.

This way you can check:
LOC_CHECK is basically the same as " CALL " , but then for a locator. You can fill in e.g. "jo20". It will look then for all locators that are "like JO20%" => This means :

GENERAL NOTE
For both "CALL" & "LOC_CHECK" : qso's via SAT or REP are not taken into account !!!
Maybe you notice that CALL, CQ, ITU and LOC are links.
Well: you can try it out ! It will bring you maps and info. Click the links and you'll see.
We'll discuss this later.
And now .... : you're ready to start logging !
We'll discuss the other menu's as we proceed.
