Yeasu FT-817: To test my antenna's

The Yaesu FT-817 is a fully self-contained, battery-powered, low power amateur MF/HF/VHF/UHF transceiver for portable/camping/mountain top use. Providing coverage of of the 160-10 meter amateur bands plus the 6 M, 2M and 70 cm bands, the FT-817 includes operation on the SSB, CW, AM, FM and digital modes. This radio is designed for use either from an external DC source or internal batteries and provides up to 5 watts of power output when on external DC power. When using the optional FNB-72 NiCd Battery pack or 8 AA cells (not supplied), the radio automatically switches to 2.5 watts. The multi-function LCD screen includes selectable blue or amber backlighting which may be disabled for battery conservation. This radio comes with: MH-31A8J Hand mic, FBA-28 Battery case (8 x AA), YHA-63 Whip antenna for 50/144/430 MHz, E-DC6 DC cable and shoulder strap.

Yeasu FT-857: Mobile use with the atas-120

The Yaesu FT-857 is the worlds's smallest HF/VHF/UHF multimode amateur transceiver. But don't let the diminutive size fool you. The FT-857 is loaded with features, high power output and a receiver that blends the renowned performance of the FT-897 and FT-1000 Mark V. It provides coverage of the 160 to 6 meter bands plus the 144 MHz and 430 MHz bands! The ergonomic layout and large tuning knob insure safe mobile operation. And look at the receive coverage: 0.1-76, 108-174 and 420-512 MHz. The front panel is removable and it is remotable with the optional YSK-857 separation kit. Refinements include: spectrum display, 32 color display, beacon mode, keyer, 200 alphanumeric memories and CTCSS.

The FT-857 rear panel features an SO239 input for your HF/6M antenna, and an SO-239 input for your 2M/440 MHz antenna. Includes MH31A8J hand mic, mounting bracket, DC power cord, spare ATC fuses. The optional YSK-857 allows remoting the head.

Yeasu FT-897: only for digitale modes PSK, SSTV, RTTY

American hams got their first look at the new Yaesu FT-897 at the 2002 Dayton Hamvention. It is the world's first multi-mode high-power base/mobile transceiver designed to fitted with internal batteries (optional) for portable use. The coverage is HF 160 to 10 meters plus 50/144/430 MHz VHF/UHF. Receive is 0.1-56, 76-108, 118-164 and 420-470 MHz. It is ideal for home, vacation, emergency, rescue, DX-pedition or VHF/UHF rover operation. With optional items the FT-897 system can be configured for mobile, base or portable use.

The large multi-color display can be programmed to show different colors on each band, mode, memory group or event to track signal strength by color! There are two antenna connectors HF/50 and 144/430. 7.9x3.2x10.3 inches (200x80x263 mm). The FT-897 comes with a MH-31B8 hand mic and power cord.

Yeasu FT-920: only phone DX-ing with MD100 microphone

The Yaesu FT-920 is packed with really high tech features such as: a high performance 33 MIPS DSP circuit for razor-sharp selectivity, increased average power output and voice pattern contour choice, automatic seeking DSP notch and noise reduction, built-in antenna tuner for RX and TX, DSP bandwidth controls and shuttle jog tuning controls. It provides exceptional multimode performance from 160 through 6 meters.

The new design 100 watt MOS FET amplifier and unibody construction provides efficient, full power for ham bands 1.8 to 54 MHz. Utilizing rugged MRF355 FETs in a push-pull configuration, the FT-920's final amplifier stage produces 100 watts of clean output power.

The multi-function tuning dials provide easy setup for split-frequency operating situations. When seconds count, you will appreciate the ease of tuning with two large tuning knobs in combination with the LED-illuminated VFO selector switches. The Sub VFO dial may also be used for Clarifier (RIT/XIT) tuning or memory channel selection. Variable tuning steps of 1 Hz, 10 Hz, or 100 Hz are provided on SSB, CW and digital modes (10, 100 and 1000 Hz on AM/FM). An ergonomic keypad is available for band selection or direct frequency entry.

For contesters, this transceiver even features a digital voice recorder and electronic memory message keyer (4 messages of up to 50 characters each). A DB-9 RS-232C jack is featured for an easy connection to a personal computer (no level converter is required). Includes MH-31B8 hand microphone, DC cord and manual. Requires 12 VDC at 22 amps.
