Salami Wedges
Ingredients:
- 16 ounces spreadable cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 24 slices hard salami -- 3" diameter
- 32 cocktail onions
- cellophane-tipped toothpicks
Preparation:
- Combine spreadable cheddar cheese with chopped walnuts.
- Spread the cheese mixture on a slice of salami, top with another salami slice.
- Spread the mixture on that slice and top with a third slice of salami.
- Repeat, building stacks with the remaining cheese mixture and salami.
- Wrap the layered meat stacks in foil and freeze for about 1 hour.
- Remove the stacks from the freezer and cut each stack into 4 equal wedges.
- Attach a cocktail onion to each salami wedge with a cellophane-tipped toothpick. Do-Ahead Note: Wrap the uncut salami stacks securely in foil, then freeze. Cut into wedges and garnish, then refrigerate or serve.
