Pastry Snails
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup flour
- dash salt
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 2 tablespoons cold water
- 6 ounces deviled ham
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- pickle relish -- if desired
Preparation:
- Sift flour and salt together.
- Cut in shortening.
- Add cold water and work into stiff dough.
- Refrigerate for 1/2 hour.
- Then roll to very thin rectangle on top of waxed paper. Spread with a mixture of the deviled ham, mustard and relish. Roll as for jelly roll. Freeze. When ready to serve, slice thin. Bake at 400 for 15 minutes. Serve hot.
