Fried Oysters
Ingredients:
- 1 c Milk
- 24 Oysters,freshly shucked
- Salt
- Pepper
- Cornmeal
- Cracker crumbs
- Vegetable shortening
Preparation:
- Pour milk over oysters, soak 10 minutes.
- Roll oysters in seasoned cornmeal or cracker crumbs.
- Heat shortening, fry oysters quickly in very hot shortening until brown.
- Drain well on paper towels before serving.
