MANILA — The Philippine presidential palace authorities
publicized Wednesday two pictures allegedly taken during a key meeting of
personalities that hatched a coup d'etat plot against the government of
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
The pictures were shown during a hastily arranged press conference carried by the government's nationwide television channel at the Malacanang Palace after a rebel soldier earlier in the day told an investigation at the Camp Aguinaldo military compound that Arroyo had him detained when he tried to tell her about widespread corruption in the military.
