My Operating System of choice is Linux. I find it amazing that something so good was developed as freeware by so many people.

My Editor of choice is Emacs - this editor has the ability to surprise you every time with another great feature you didn't know till now. Only after half a year I worked with it I discovered that you can load a file from another computer via ftp (by C-x C-f and then write: /user@hostname:/path/).

My http server of choice is the Apache - it is working great, easy to configure and free as well!

If I should write a Web application and also other applications I would prefer to use Perl. This is a great language - a lot bigger and more sophisticated then people tend to think, and again it is free. Perl today is fully OO language. The language is all the time getting more and more powerfull because of the CPAN modules. Other advantage is the portability of Perl - compare it to the portability of Java!

C is another language I enjoy to write. But I prefer more the OO languages like C++, Java or - again - Perl.
The applet at the right is a little program to show a 3D-cube. This is the first version of the cube in the opening page of this site. You also can see how I wrote it.

Actually it is a quite simple applet - but it gives a nice effect, and I didn't have more then a few evenings to prepare this whole site...

As you can see, this site is still being developed so all my bookmarks are not published here yet. But I promise to work on it...
