World Zouk & Lambada

If you're from somewhere other than New York and you dance zouk and lambada, get in touch with me at dance@tropicalny.com so I can add something about where you dance.

Dancers from all over the world dance with various individual and regional styles, experienced or not, but we're all one big happy family who love to dance with one another!

Here's what we've collected so far on contacts around the world:

Argentina

Buenos Aires has some great zouk dancing! Fantastic instructors give free zouk lessons at the clubs, and they offer private lessons as well. Here's a link to Maluca Beleza, a popular zouk dance spot which is a paradise on earth for zouk dancers, and where you can take lessons from Gilson, Fabiola, Patricia, Bebe, and occasionally Didi and Braz, wonderful instructors and dancers, and wonderful people. This is about the best spot in the world for zouk dancing now, as there are many great Argentine and also some of the best dancers to come out of Porto Seguro and other places in Brazil dancing here, too. We have found Maluco Beleza to be one of our favorite places on earth, not just for the great zouk dancing, but also for all of the wonderfully nice people there!

Photos Gilson and Fabiola, the greatest zouk instructors! We recommend that everyone who can take a lesson from them - whether you're a beginner or an instructor!

Find out about one of Buenos Aires' dancers and see more pictures from Maluco Beleza on this site.

There's also a website featuring Claudia Moraes of Porto Seguro at http://orbita.starmedia.com/~lambaporto/index.html.

Claudia now teaches in Buenos Aires at Danzario Americano, at Guardia Vieja 3559, Capital Federal. Telephone: 54-11-4824-7773, email: claudiamoraes@ciudad.com.ar.

Porto Seguro

Yes, you can dance zouk in this seaside town in Bahia, Brazil, where zouk dancing was born!

Porto Seguro has a new, huge zouk club! This is a new Maluco Beleza, and it has been opened by Didi and Bras of Porto Seguro (and of Kaoma fame), Gilson, the head instructor at Maluco Beleza in Buenos Aires, and Patricia, with the backing of Maluco Beleza in Buenos Aires.

The new club is on Av. Do Descobrimento, right on the ocean, behind Banco do Brazil in the center of town. This club has been the dream of the founders as well as all the rest of the zouk dancers around the world! Inauguration was January 10, 2001. The club is beautiful, with a great floor, and lots of great music and dancing! We were there in January, 2001, along with dancers from all over the world, and it was awesome! Free group lessons are also being held at 9:00pm. You can check out Maluco Beleza's cool new site for more information on the 3 Maluco Beleza clubs.

See you there next January!
