We’ve got a lot of good music in this little country but psychobilly-bands aren’t that well represented. Ok, we got nice pscyho-acts such as The Mudmen, Hellsonics and Adios Pantalonés and in the early days we got The Ratmen, The A-Bombs , Boozy and The Yancatooz. But each self-proclaimed psychobilly-head had a copy of The Swampy’s four-song debut-album (1987) and their full-lenght follow-up a year later. Both records were filled with mostly fast old-school psycho with an extreme fat slap-bass sound and an overall straight ahead attitude. Despite the fact that they only got two albums under their belt and that they split up for a while (to reform begin 2000) they have a cult-status far beyond the Belgian borders. And what’s more, since their resurrection they play all the big psycho-fests around the globe. This breed of rock-‘n-roll is not for the faint-hearted amongst us but hey, FUCK THAT! We present : THE SWAMPY’S!
