I am married to Myrian Salembier. We have three children: Sandra (married to Luk Genoe), Cynthia and Brendan, and five grand-children: Alexander and Mathias, Sandra's sons; and Lisa and Anouk, Cynthia's daughters,
and Semmegina (in short: Giny), daughter of Brendan.
Myrian used to teach physics and mathematics at secondary school level, at college level and the school for adult education Westhoek- Westkust, but is now retired.
Sandra is a commercial engineer (KU Leuven, 1997) and works at the Catholic University of Leuven (KUL), Institute of Economic Studies, where she obtained a doctorate in 2005 and is now a professor. She specializes in environmental economics but is also interested in informetrics. You can find her in my publication list as a co-author of several articles.
Cynthia has a master degree in commercial sciences (EHSAL, 1998). She works for the Banque de Luxembourg.
Brendan is a software engineer, a degree he obtained at the Technical University of Eindhoven (TUE), the Netherlands. He works for TomTom and is co-owner of Soccrates Images. He too is a co-author of some of my
articles.
