Hey, what can I say…if you have plates you’ll try and enjoy it as much as possible J

Went to visit a friend, he hadn’t seen the car yet so good opportunity to meet with him.

Again, enjoying the driving of the Seven along the roads.

03/01/2004 (-4°)

To bad I couldn’t drive the other days due to some wet snow and rain.

Today the wind is feeling really chilly so I decided to put on the roof. Drove back to the friend I visited the other day, we managed to adjust the headlights in a garage

Had arranged with my insurrance that I could take my mothers license-plates to go for the first time to the Technical controle in order to obtain my paperwork fro the car. The insurance-person gave me two weeks to put the plates on, with my mother on holiday and myself 2 weeks off, I had all the time in the world to take her out for a spin….

Each time the kids went to bed, dady was driving J.

So on this day, the 4th of Februari, I had to go to the controle station …was a nice drive upthere (62 km). The people overthere where realy friendly and took all the time they needed to inspect the car, talking with me, looking things up, measuring the car, preparing the dossier, etc.

Lights OK, Suspension OK, CO was OK, only the brakes couldn’t be tested because I was to low to the ground with my sump (6.5cm)…So this has to change in the future (already been done….now I am at 9.5cm….still 1.5cm to go to be official).

They made a remarque about my rigide steering shaft, what means that it needs work probably, and about my chasis-number. It seems that in Belgium the chasis-numbers have to be 7mm in height and mine are only 5mm ….and…and….they have to have between 12 to 17 digits….my Westfield having only 10 digits.

What do they think, that there are hundred thousends Westie’s been build each year….Guess they would love that at Westfield !!!

I got an answer back from Brussels within 15 days (what is rather fast since they have 60 days to answer) telling me that the car is not approved along belgian regularisations (whats new???) and that I can file for a special case on this car.

Since this is the standard procedure, I did make a new report and send it to Brussels again…

Now I am thinking about to use the help of the importer, since we have to go to Brussels several times I guess, things have to change, he has the experaince more then I do, etc etc….and I really would like to have the car on the road before summer.

I will keep you all informed if I am gonna make it…

Well, Finaly I made it……all by myself J YES YES

Had some more paperwork to do……and after I thought everything was in order I went for my technical control…and the sticker of my new registration number in Belgium (PVG-number).

Once arrived, troubles…..I had to re-do a full control in an other station…..so of I went.

In the other station there was just a slight problem with my chassis-number, as I told before….so this HAD TO BE DONE….!!!

After changing the chassisnumber (many thanks of the Westfield importer), I went back and finaly, I got my new PVG-number.

Got my plates 2 days laters….LET THE FUN BEGIN….
