# MY EXPERIENCE :
These giants (5 to 7 Kg European Metric system) are the most impressive birds i have ever seen in my life, but at the same time they become very rare ! Most birds in Europe are crossed with Japanese Shamo to make them quicker in the fights and get better breeding-results or with Malay to make them bigger again !
But the result is that they are getting smaller and smaller and they lost their typical looks that distincquist them from the other Shamo's : The long massive heads, the long legs and the strong body with the expressive strong shoulders all together.

Each hen lays only 20 eggs a year and not every hen is willing to couple with a cock so breeding them is not easy ! The chickens are growing fast, so they can have a lot of problems with the muscles of the legs the first year. They need 2 year to grow up fully !

I wish to start-up a breeding-program between all the remaining Taiwans that are still from pure origin. That is not easy because not all breeders have the same opinion on the Taiwans, but they all find it necessary to undertake some action. So if you are breeding Taiwan, please let me know your coördinates and send me some pictures of your birds and i'll try to find you a partner or several partners to start a breeding-program. And let us finally put a date and place down where we can all come together and discuss the future of this beautiful breed. Because the population is becoming very thin !!!

Taiwan-Shamo are the biggest and heaviest gamefowl on earth, they can weigh up to 7 Kg.

These Taiwans where bred under the warm sun of the mediterenian. What a strong looking cock ! The black hen is amazing, although we must ask where she came from, because i never hurd of black Taiwans being imported.
