7 Cheating and abuse
7.1 On the DEV CUP website, email, teamspeak or talk during the game, DEV CUP takes action against the following abusive behavior:
• Behavior only meant to shock or disturb; for images we draw the line at gore and hardcore porn (visible genitals, intercourse).
• Racism.
• Bothering people with off-topic advertising in other words: uninteresting advertisements (e.g. use my referral id to sign up so I make money or get points). Of course you -are- allowed to advertise clan pages and player pages.
• Exposing viruses or worms.
• Promoting cheats or contributing to their spread.
• Senseless spamming on any related DEV CUP item or media.
• Harassment (repeated insulting/bothering).
• Offending a DEV CUP admin in course of his/her official duties.
• Providing false information or being dishonest to a DEV CUP representative in any other form
7.2 Abusive behavior is punished with a ban of the DEV CUP for 1 player or a ban of the entire clan or group of the DEV CUP. If this happens in a match then automatically this offending clan or group will lose the match. Cause they will be disqualified from the DEV CUP!
7.3 It is not allowed to take advantage of or abuse bugs/glitches. Any kind of bug/glitches abuse is considered cheating and will lead to a forfeit loss, unless otherwise mentioned specifically in the game-related rules. Going to places which are not accessible without help (like Para dropping on roofs/ jumping from cars on roofs) is not allowed.
7.4 All programs or files, either changed game files or new files, that change the game or add to its functionality, or which interact with the game in any way, are strictly forbidden unless other rules specify otherwise. Modified versions of the game's resource files are always forbidden, regardless of what they do. The use of any forbidden program or file by any clan or group member during a match, leads to a forfeit loss, and could lead to a removal and ban from DEV CUP in major cases.
7.5 Programs that do not interact with the game in any way are allowed, even if they can be used and operated simultaneously with the game. Voice communication programs are examples of such programs.
7.6 All players known as cheater by EA, Easy, Evenbalance (PunkBuster), GGC and PBbans are not allowed to play in the DEV CUP.
7.7 Clans or groups abusing the DEV CUP system in any way in order to gain an advantage or just to be a nuisance will be deleted or suspended from the DEV CUP.
7.8 In-game cheating during a DEV CUP match:
• Traces of cheats (e.g. variable settings) without actually cheating: Permanent ban for the player, forfeit loss for the clan.
• Cheating (aimbot, wallhack, spiked models, ...): permanent ban for the player. If the cheating occurred in a tournament match, the clan will be removed from the tournament.
• However DEV CUP will only act if the evidence of the cheating is brought to us in full and the identity of the cheater can be determined with certainty. If the evidence is unclear or incomplete, the report will be discarded. Clans or groups will not be held responsible for the actions of their players on public servers unless the cheating player is the clan leader.
If a Clan uses a banned player (on alt account)
• Match the offence occurred in will be forfeited.
Producing and/or distributing :
• Game exploits: permanent ban.
• Cheats (wallhack, aimbot, etc): permanent ban.
Buying cheats which can be used in online tournaments :
• Game exploits: permanent ban
• Cheats (wallhack, aimbot, etc): permanent ban
Using altered files which lead to the use of a cheat or traces of a cheat will be punished according the earlier mentioned policies.
Clanbase, ESL and TWL have been used as input to form this set of rules.
