Review by
Thomas Glorieux:
Typically in the style of Friends and any romantic comedy, the charm and
romantic flair was still all over the place of this movie, and I liked the
strong leads of Perry, Campbell as Platt and therefore its food for the
fans, but it tastes well. Anyway, for Graeme Revell a sign to get away from
the more known sides of his career and come up with some spice (which he
did with Out of Time literally) and while again not truly appreciated for
it, perhaps a score release could have given him some air time at least for
gaining fans. The song album featured such songs by Atomic Fireballs,
Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Royal Crown Review and Indigo Swing and at least
with Graeme Revell we had a name not defining the logical basis of our
society. The score track, lasting a whopping 3 minutes however contains
the piece of music making the most impact in the film, at the end when the
love theme receives no romantic flourishing ending but a beautiful and
appropriate trumpet version with growing strings. That in the middle unnecessary
dialogue interrupts no music, but the flow of it is to be forgotten for
the wonderful and charming version of its theme. Of course lacking is the
more bouncy Tango music and some romantic blushing romance, the musical
track at least shows a better side of Graeme Revell. It perhaps doesn't
deserve a purchase solely because of it, but it makes the scene glow in
the film and on album, Three to Tango works like a lovely addition to some compilation
scores you no doubt put together yourself.
