Review
by Thomas Glorieux: The best tracks are 'Miami Jump', a track that builds up to a bold and rousing finale and 'Too Many Notes / Not Enough Rests'. It begins with a spectacular ballet (that's what it has to represent), it's really sensational and then it becomes simply breathtaking, the action and speed takes enormous proportions and we get a superb action motif (heard in the trailer of The Mask of Zorro and Pirates of the Carribean), before ending with the same ballet stuff. This is really a breathtaking highlight. Zimmer at his highest potential. This score will please just some fans but those will have a blast because Drop Zone is plain amusement set high in the sky. The effectiveness of the synthesizers, electric guitars and sound effects are really outstanding and where this score should fail with any other composer, it makes and fulfills the movie and soundtrack with action specialist Hans Zimmer. The song heard in the begin is really stupid and nothing of a worthy mention. However the rest is enormously fast and seatbelts are required. You want to be blown away, hear this action feast in full musical power and remember to put you stereo system at the highest volume. Like John Badham says in the liner notes: "Play it big, play it LOUD! Make your neighbors call the cops." Boy, is he right. \µµµ1/2/
