Thomas Glorieux: The only score track entitled 'Suite from "One Fine Day"' covers into 9 minutes of score material this, basically romantic comedy music as you would expect. It has warm sounds, piano based melodies but more a sometimes lounge and jazzy feeling. The lounge is actually coming of the piano which doesn't state the emotion and the jazz is only noticed at the end. Between it you have some short scherzo's of piano and orchestra (rather fun actually) and through it comically inspired rhythmic pieces which keeps the pace running. The main theme (if it is possible to point that out) is found among other statements on 5.30 and is nothing special on its own. Basically, One Fine Day isn't that special, simply because it doesn't cover a lot of material. It is nice and occasionally fun but simply background stuff that fits wonderfully with the film itself. If you love these romantic background listens and couldn't care about entries like Kenny Loggins (For the first Time), The Shirelles (Mama Said) or Ella Fitzgerald (Isn't it Romantic) then go for it. However if I really was interested in the music of Howard, my title wouldn't have been One Fine Day but actually One Lousy Track. But I'm not that interested in it to make all that fuss about it. \µµµ/
