Review
by Thomas Glorieux: The score has several themes, the hero theme or Tuck's theme, heard in a lot of tracks, whenever he's doing something wild. Lydia's theme is more gentle but suffers from the poor sound quality. Only when the more heroic action music of Goldsmith arrives does the fun pick up. Better moments are 'Space is a Flop / Ozzie is Chased', 'Increased Pulse Rate', 'Escape from the Truck' and 'Gut Reaction', with not always the appropriate quality in sound, which is a shame. The entire score isn't something to pay a lot of money for because then there are other Goldsmith fantasy scores but pure enthusiasts or Goldsmith collectors still will find it decent. The Poltergeist connection links the more majestic fantasy stuff with Innerspace's best moments, it is found when Tuck finds himself inside the body of Jack, and especially when his heart rate starts to pick up pace. These moments are quite spectacular in mood. And those who enjoy such fun little themes will get a kick out of 'Enter ... The Cowboy', one of Goldsmith's insane comical themes for the movie's character, guaranteed to bust you up in the movie. Goldsmith's electronics help to bring a more scientific environment and always are appropriate for the movie's sake. And its true, Innerspace might be a worthy candidate for re release with adjusted sound quality. People who favor Goldsmith's music of this genre will be pleased about an adjusted release and I especially would discover that the score would enjoy a heck better with more acceptable sound quality. Innerspace has the Goldsmith sound with better moments and themes. And in a way does it complement the movie of Dante in every way possible. So, people who are interested and discovered a way to purchase it, no matter what the price should first investigate the value of the score inside the movie (recommended by the way, the Dante film), because I feel that Innerspace will really please those that know what to expect of it, nothing utterly brilliant but decent and rather fun on its occasions. \µµµ/
