Biography

John C. Frizzell was born in 1996 in New York and studied at the University of Southern California School of music and at the Manhattan school of music before working as an orchestrator on television series and motion pictures. The most common name was there working for James Newton Howard, which led later on to work with Newton Howard on Dante's Peak. His first work was on Keys for TV and VR5 (series). His first real gig on any importance was the motion picture adaptation of the successful series Beavis and Butt-Head in Beavis and Butt-Head do America. In 1997 he scored as mentioned Dante's Peak (with initial help of James Newton Howard leading to themes) and Alien Resurrection. Frizzell became quite the horror composer namely scoring I Still Know what you did last Summer, Thirteen Ghosts and Ghost Ship, all luckily with a massive orchestral underscore. Comedy (Mafia), teen comedy / thriller (Teaching Mrs.. Tingle) and action (Cradle 2 the Grave) were other assignments. Yet the biggest came with Gods and Generals, the powerful score for the sequel on Gettysburg. The Woods, Four Minutes, The Prize Winner of Defiance Ohio and some horror / thriller fare ala Stay Alive, The Reaping, Primeval and Beneath follow Frizzell's further career path. He remains however one of Hollywood's upcoming composers.
