Biography Klaus Badelt is one of the upcoming talented composers of the last years, having written movies with additional music from 1999 to the present, many include the name MV and successful titles such as Mission: Impossible 2, Gladiator, Pearl Harbor and Hannibal include the list. Badelt also co wrote scores with Hans Zimmer namely Invincible and The Pledge of which he received full credit. His career solo wise started with the popular score The Time Machine and resulted in a career boost in Hollywood. Badelt started to score sole pictures such as K-19: The Widowmaker, Ned Kelly and The Recruit while leaving the known Media Ventures sounds behind. However, the bombastic Pirates of the Caribbean was a step back into the solid known direction and was heralded as a fun but unoriginal score. Badelt started his career in his homeland Germany, composing for German TV while in 1998 stepping into Santa Monica's domain of Hans Zimmer's MV cooperation. Frequently in demand, Badelt also composed music for the movies Basic, Equilibrium, The In-Laws and Catwoman, the dud of the female genre. Additional co scoring in Constantine, Ultraviolet, the big Chinese movie The Promise (his best), Poseidon, Premonition and TMNT are more of Badelt's fare.
(on co composing) 2002 It doesn't always work out that you put a CD together in the order the music appears in the movie, but it worked out this time, and I liked that. (on The Time Machine) 2002 I'm a German writing an American movie about a Russian Story. (on K-19: The Widowmaker) Highlight of his career: " His epic score for The Promise " |
