ED TV

"Edelman's score was good in the movie, that's what this sole track shows us"

Review by Thomas Glorieux:

Randy Edelman is a composer who often can score quickly a 5 to 6 movies per year, while other times can have the time to work on his creations with additional amounts of rest. Whether Ed TV is that creation with more effort, at least it worked well in the film of Ron Howard and could have benefited from a wider release, or so it should have been in the final phase. However, after all the songs by Jon Bon Jovi, Barenaked Ladies and Otis Redding among the few is Randy Edelman's sole contribution to the album, with a 3 minute short if amusing added bonus to the song album. Its difficult and kinda stupid to review and more compare this rate with others of its kind but the charm of the guitar playing, bouncy and lightly comedic ala Shanghai Noon shows at least there is a kind of charm in the music by Edelman, and Ed TV is bringing with 'Streetwalkin' Ed' just that. It has an electric guitar and occasionally it reminds me of some country music, but its fun for 3 minutes just of your time. This of course doesn't justify a purchase of the song album, because as score material its extremely thin, but at least as rental or downloaded material, the short score track of Edelman proves he's still got it, to give those comedies of the '80 now a charm of Ed in the '90.
