LIST OF ADMITTED SPEED SKATERS
Dear Sirs,
we have pleasure in sending you here enclosed the list of skaters who qualified for the above mentioned World Games on the basis of the results achieved in individual races on the road at the 2004 World Championships in Italy.
The Organising Committee of the World Games communicated us that a new track , a 200 mt banked one, has been built in Duisburg and that the event will be carried out there.
The admission list has been done on the basis of the road championships as just communicated by the CIC; nevetheless, races will be carried out on this 200 mt track.
The program will be the following:
July 18 training
July 19 300 mt men and ladies
1.000 mt sprint men and ladies
July 20 500 mt sprint men and ladies
5.000 mt points men and ladies
July 21 3.000 mt in line men and ladies
10.000 mt elimination race, men and ladies
Skaters coming from European Federations may arrive on Sunday July 17, while skaters from overseas on Saturday July 16.
All skaters must leave Duisburg on July 22.
We are seizing this opportunity to remind you that participation is reserved to qualified skaters, nevertheless the corresponding National Federations may substitute, if necessary, the qualified athletes with other skaters of top level, being in a better physical condition at the moment of this event, provided that participated at a World or Continental Championship in the last 2 years.
We are also pleased to communicate you that the participation a the World Games has the total support of the I.O.C. as stated by President Mr. Jacques Rogge.
Thus, concerned Federations may ask their NOC some technical, financial support in order to take part at the World Games.
We kindly ask the concerned Federations, those having qualified skaters, to confirm us their participation at the 2005 World Games within and not later than March 15, 2005. If the CIC does not receive such confirmations within this deadline, it will be our care to invite other skaters who successively qualified in this special ranking.
Organisers will be responsible for board and lodging expenses for all skaters and participating officials as by our passport for the foreseen period of stay.
Travelling expenses will be up to participants.
All skaters will participate with their National sports uniforms, flags and anthems.
On such matter, we remind all of you that according to the WG rules, all skaters must wear their National sport uniforms without advertisments as for the participation at the Olympic Games.
The participation for speed skating will be as follows:
24 male skaters
24 female skaters
12 officials
1 Technical Delegate
All other accompanying people of each team must provide on their own for booking and payment of hotel that, according to availability, could be the same allocated to skaters, please see www.worldgames2005.de
