Hello, you've reached the Phish hotline.
This is a new message as of February 24th.
Since Phish's
Spring schedule has changed slightly - they won't be starting their work
in the
studio until
later in April - the band has decided to play a few shows at the beginning
of that
month.
On April 2nd
and 3rd, Phish will play at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, Long Island,
New
York. Seats will
be general admission on the floor and reserved in the stands. Tickets will
go
on sale Saturday,
February 28th at 9:00 AM Eastern time at the Irving Plaza Box Office with
no service charge
(in person, cash only); via Ticketmaster charge-by-phone: 212.307.7171;
and at Ticketmaster
outlets in the tri-state area: New York City and New York state north as
far as Kingston,
New Jersey north of Tom's River, and Fairfield County, Connecticut. Tickets
will also be
available via Ticketmaster online after a one-hour delay, at 10 AM. If
any tickets
remain, they
will also be available at the Nassau Coliseum Box Office as of 10:30 AM
on
Sunday, March
1st. Wristbands will be available at Ticketmaster outlets starting at 5:00
PM
Thursday, February
26th. There will be a limit of 6 tickets per person per show. Since the
floor is general
admission, designated tapers' tickets will not be issued; if you wish to
audio
tape the show,
you will need to have a general admission floor ticket in order to bring
taping
equipment into
the building.
And on the 4th
and 5th of April, Phish will play at the Civic Center in Providence, Rhode
Island. Seats
will be reserved and tickets will go on sale Saturday, February 28th at
11:00 AM
Eastern time
at the Providence Civic Center Box Office with no service charge; via
Ticketmaster
charge-by-phone: 401.331.2211; and at Ticketmaster outlets in the New England
region: Rhode
Island, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Connecticut
except Fairfield
County. Tickets will also be available via Ticketmaster online after a
one-hour
delay, at noon.
Wristbands will be available at the Providence Civic Center starting at
4:00 PM
Thursday, February
26th. Priority at Ticketmaster outlets will be determined by random
number; you must
be there one hour before the sale begins to participate in the random
number distribution.
There will be a limit of 6 tickets per person per show. Tapers' tickets
for
the Providence
Civic Center show will be available via charge-by-phone from the Flynn
Theatre box office
only; the number to call is 802.863.5966 (these tickets will not be available
in person at
the Flynn, but only via phone). Tapers' tickets will also go on sale on
February
28th at 11 AM,
and there will be a limit of two tapers' tickets per show per person.
Because of the
limited amount of time, there will be no mail order for the Nassau and
Providence shows.
Phish's summer
plans are still under development; currently it looks as though the band
will be
touring in Europe
for a couple weeks at the beginning of July; since there will be little
time
between when
the Europe dates are confirmed and when they go on sale, we will not be
able
to include the
Tickets-by-Mail information and order form in a newsletter. These will
appear
on the Phish
web site - http://www.phish.com - only. If you are interested in mail ordering
tickets for the
shows in Europe, be sure to check the web site regularly for announcements
and
deadlines.
After the European
shows Phish will return to the US to tour from the west coast to the east
in
the second half
of July and first half of August, culminating with an event in the spirit
of the
Clifford Ball
and the Great Went. At the recent monthly meeting of the Loring Development
Authority Board
of Directors, the proposal for Phish to return to Limestone this summer
on
the weekend of
August 14-16 was unanimously approved. We are now in the process of
creating a new
name and new identity for this year's event, building on all the positive
aspects
of last year's
experience while incorporating many fresh new ideas as well. Within the
next two
months there
will be a follow-up press conference announcing the new name, ticket
information and
other details. This event will conclude Phish's Summer 1998 US Tour, which
is scheduled
to begin in mid-July; tickets for this and the other shows will be available
via mail
order (as well
as through regular outlets), to be announced on the web site and in the
next
Phish newsletter,
scheduled for mailing at the end of March.
If you would
like to be on the mailing list for the Phish newsletter, send your address
on a
postcard to Phish
Mailing List, P. O. Box 4400, Burlington, Vermont, 05406. If you're
correcting your
address with us, let us know both the old one and the new one so we can
keep
our records accurate.
