Meyer-Optik Görlitz Primotar E 50mm f/3.5 (M42)
|
Manufacturer: Meyer-Optik Görlitz The lens tested is a Meyer-Optik Görlitz Primotar E 50mm f/3.5 with M42 screw mount. The lens was mounted on a Pentax K100D digital camera with the Pentax mount Adapter K (#30120) and photographs were shot in RAW mode. There has been no digital post-processing other than resizing and saving as 8-bit jpeg. Test shots were made on a sometimes cloudy, sometimes sunny day (Belgians know what I'm talking about). All photographs taken hand-held with camera built-in shake reduction enabled. The lens is finished in aluminium. It feels good in the hand and doesn't weigh much, though for a 50mm lens, it is rather heavy. The filter size is 40.5mm and of the screw-in type. Aperture markings are f/3.5, 4, 5.6, 8, 11 and 16. Half-stops are possible from f/3.5 to f/8, but only full stops further down to f/16. Focus is possible from 0.5m to infinity. Focus goes smoothly. There also is an extra mark for infrared focussing (red dot). I don't know whether there also has been a specially designed hood for this lens. The diaphragm has six blades. It is of the manually tensioned automatic type. It appears that a simple coating has been applied on the glass. |
