Mig 3
The Mig-3 was a Russian high altitude interceptor developped from the Mig-1. When Operation Barbarossa started, 981 Mig's were in service with the Soviet air forces. Because most of the air combat on the easter front was at lower altitudes, for which the Mig-3 was not designed, it was outclassed by the German fighters. Therefor they shifted the Mig's to ground attack duty's, for which it was even less suited. Eventually, all Mig-3's were concentrated with the air defence units.info on the real Mig 3 on wikepedia

The 1/9th scale model of this plane is made for a Axi 2814 size brushless motor powered by a 3s Lipo pack, capable of delivering at least 250 Watt. This model is a redesign of the Mig-3 which my dad designed several years ago. The fuselage is made around a box. The fuselage formers fit over this box. Then a couple of spruce spars are added and finally the planking is applied over the fuselage frame. The wing is made with ribs on a spar and is fully sheeted. All pieces feature tabs and locks. The prototype model was finished with 25g/m² glass cloth and resin.
The model is launched with a bungee. Control is 4 channel. It is aerobatic and fast, but it has good low speed handling for landings.
