• Opera Web Browser: my favorite browser (and e-mail client).
• Mozilla Firefox: 2nd browser I prefer.
• TextPad: very nice text editor.
• OpenOffice.org: the best free Office-suite.
• Ad-aware: free spyware remover.
• Spybot S&D: free spyware remover. (use both Ad-aware and Spybot to remove most of the spyware)
• CuteFTP Home: very good FTP client. (not free, but not expensive)

Other

• DaFONT: lots of fonts, for both PC and Mac, nicely categorized.
• Dilbert: the famous comic by Scott Adams.
• iSketch: online Pictionary (quite addictive!).
• Apple Trailers: high quality trailers from the latest movies (QuickTime format).
