Eastern
Tirol is situated below Salzburgerland and next to Kärnten and the Italian
Border. Lienz is the most important city of this region. I come here since
I was a still a small kid. If we go to this part of Austria my family visits the
Hohe Tauern. This is the largest protected nature reservein Central Europe and
it's heart is situated in Matrei i.O. and the whole Virgental. Small villages we
stayed during are hollidays are: Matrei, Ganz, Virgen, Hinterbichl, Prägraten,
etc.
In this section I'll begin with
describing my climbs in the Venediger massive (Dach Gottes) and my climb to the
Gross Glockner. Later on, I will also give you some tips for mountain hikes you
can do by yourself. I will include a difficulty level, so that you get an idea
if this certain hike is something for you or not.
