In 1995 we spent 7 weeks in South-East Asia, travelling through Thailand, Laos & Malaysia.
We crossed the Thai-Malaysian border at Kolok and we went to Khota Bharu first.
From there we went to Kuala Besut, where we took the boat to the Perhentian Islands.
From the islands to Kuala Terengganu, Marang, Kapas and to Rantau Abang.
Here we waited for the 'leatherback' turtles to show, but we weren't lucky. We did get to see the small ones as they hatched - very interesting !
After a few days we went to Kuantan and then to the Taman Negara Resort.
We spent some time in the rain forest and then onwards to Melaka, Kuala Lumpur and Penang. From there we took the train back to Bangkok.
