USA: Visit to Savannah (24 Aug. 2007)

    ˆ

After having presented 2 papers at the 2007 AIAA Modeling and Simulation Technologies Conference and Exhibit in Hilton Head, South Carolina, I visited Savannah, Georgia for a day before coming back to the Netherlands. These are some pictures of an afternoon stroll through the historic centre of Savannah and as you will see, it was a lot sunnier after the Guinness ;)

Bolivia: Tarija - Tupiza - Uyuni

    ˆ

An 8-day trip in Bolivia after I finished my internship. By air from Cochabamba to Tarija (busses were on strike) then by bus to Tupiza, the starting place of a tour through the south west of Bolivia. This ended in Uyuni, from which I travelled via Oruro back to Cochabamba.

    Bolivia: El Choro Trek

    ˆ

Starting at La Cumbre (.kml), the highest point on the La Paz - Coroico highway (4725m), and climbs to 4849m before descending 3250m into the Yungas and the village of Chairo. I hiked this trail together with Margriet, Eelco and our guide Jhonny.

    Bolivia: Torotoro & Sucre

    ˆ

During the trip to Torotoro, we got a flat tire for 3 times (the wheel in the right back, due to a broken suspension).

    Bolivia: Lloyd Aero Boliviano

    ˆ

Some pictures from the offices of Lloyd Aero Boliviano in Cochabamba where all maintenance (for their Boeing 727 aircraft) takes place. For my internship, I did work related to the (second-hand) 727 full-flight simulator they bought. Sadly, the simulator building wasn't finished at the time I was there, so I actually never say the simulator.
