Sexual differences

The difference between male and female is not always very clear. With juveniles the difference is almost not visible. Getting together a hole group of juv. together and comparering them may help you on your way, but it will not garantee that you will get the right gender. Only a trained eye and an expert can sex juveniles, and still then they are mistaken sometimes.
These are a few differences that can be spotted immediately, but this is not the case for al turtles.

Elongated front claws by males
Thicker tale of the male. Its cloaca is further away from the marginal rim while the females is near the carapace.
The plastron is concave and more indented.
The anal plates of the plastron may differ in size and shape.
With some species, females are much larger than males.
