2004 elektronisch bekeken

2004 Elektronisch!
vet : in mijn bezit
niet vet: spijtig genoeg niet in mijn bezit

  • Mylo - Destroy Rock & Roll
  • Bent - Ariels
(this one could be #4 on my list. superb melodies, but a lack of ideas make it the worst of their three albums. but that's no problem. it's just different to their other albums)
  • Hexstatic - Master View
  • Sasha - Involver
(mix album, i wish more mix albums were like this. Brilliantly constructed)
  • Orbital - Blue Album
(Definitely a top album. 'One perfect sunrise' is one of the tracks of the year for me)
  • Air - Talkie Walkie
  • Phonetic Dial - Schematics
  • Kasabian - Kasabian
(Top 'Stone Roses' style abum. This will be big next year, I think)
  • Fragile states - Voices from the Dust Bowl
  • Fatboy Slim - Palookaville
  • 808 State - Prebuild
  • The Orb - Bicycles & Tricycles
(big disappointment compared to my beloved cydonia in all its versions. a big plus, however, is the two different versions of b&t fans can get. so you can pick up your favourites on each album. still, i want lush tunes by the orb and hard tunes by any other artist)
  • Dollboy - Plans For A Modern City
  • System 7 - Encantado
(Best yet from the space duo, proving that it's still possible to produce decent trance/techno music)
  • Homelife - Guru Man Hubcap Lady
  • Revenge - One True Passion v. 2.0
  • Mr Scruff - Keep It Unreal Solid Steel
  • Death In Vegas - Satan's Circus
    (Best album of theirs yet)
  • Savath & Savalas - Apropa't
(Amazing Brazilian folk music style album from the man behind Prefuse 73)
  • Way Out West
(Don't look now. Solid album with quite a few tunes of the year for me)
  • Arovane - Lillies
(Not quite as good as 'Tides', but better than most IDM albums this year)
  • Boom Bip - Corymb
    (Lovely laid back album)
  • Swod - Gehen
(Lovely glitchy piano music from Germany)
  • The Beta Band - Heroes to Zeroes
  • The Streets - A Grand don't come for free
  • Misch Masch - Tieschwarz
  • Lazyboy-Penguin Rock
  • Ivan Smagghe - suck my deck
  • Husky Rescue-country falls
  • Sven Vath-the sound of the 4th season
  • Funk D'Void-volume freak
  • Grand National-kicking the national habit
  • Josh Wink:20 to 20
  • Michael Mayer - Touch
  • Tiefschwarz - Misch Masch
(probably my favourite release of the year, actually)
  • The Go! Team - Thunder Lightning Strike
  • The Streets - A Grand Don't Come For Free
  • Felix Da Housecat - Devin Dazzle And The Neon Fever
  • Superpitcher - Here Comes Love
  • Ivan Smagghe - Suck My Deck
  • The Prodigy - Always outnumbered, never outgunned
(gosh, this album sloooooowly grows on me. i'm a huge fan of "the way it is", and i can even stand "memphis bells" . so what's wrong? i don't know, the flow isn't right for a prodigy album)
  • Junior Boys - Last Exit
(anyone else heard this? Its beautiful)
  • Wiley - Tredding On Thin Ice
  • Thomas Fehlmann - lowflow
(i've never thought his own releases sounding better than his orb efforts, but it's an obvious fact now. very mellow, this one restored my faith)
  • MoM - Radical Connector
  • Home Video - That You Might and Citizen EPs
  • Crystal Method - Legion of Boom
