Johnny C. (Nny)
Not much is known about Johnny. At one point, he may have been an intelligent young man, before he, well, went insane. At present, Nny is more his own enemy than any external mind could be. He's possibly more mentally malformed than the people he thinks have ruined this world. He's not a loser - he's just lost.
Johnny is also the creator of Happy Noodle Boy (so leave him alone!).

Nail Bunny
Nail Bunny is the sole voice of reason in Johnny's life. Once, long ago (three years to be exact), Nail Bunny was a happy little bunny, born in a cage in a pet store. He was very warm and nuzzly with his big soft mommy rabbit. The people who came to the store were always very nice to him. Then, one day, he got taken away from his mommy and whisked off into the amazing human world. At first it was scary, but then Bunny overcame his fears and realised what a wonderful world it was. Just then, Johnny pinned him against a wall and slammed a nail through his guts.

Psycho Doughboy (D-Boy)
Psycho Doughboy is, like Nail Bunny, host to one of Johnny's internal voices. D-Boy is the voice of Johnny's despair; when Nny is depressed, D-Boy will try to push him over the edge to suicide. D-Boy has no desire to be "real"; his only desire is to simply stop being.

Mr Fuck (Mr Eff)
The second of the two dough-boys, and a few years younger than D-Boy. If Nail Bunny is the Angel on Johnny's shoulder, then the doughboys are a fractured version of the Devil, each horrible in their own way. Unlike D-Boy, Mr Eff doesn't want Johnny to die. He wants him to kill more people, because he believes Nny's insanity feeds him and will eventually set him free, and make him real.

Devi
Devi has a rather unfortunate love-life. Every date she went on went from bad to worse, but it did not reach an all-time low untill she dated Johnny. His attempt to kill her to "immortalise the moment" did not strike her as very romantic. Since escaping him (and kicking his ass), she has not left her house. Devi is also the main character in Jhonen Vasquez' other book I Feel Sick: A Book About a Girl.
