Marc loves to make photos. His favorite subjects are our dogs and landscapes. When he was ten, he got his first camera. It was an Agfa Optima Sensor (big red button shutter release button). I do not remember whether it was a 335, 535 or 1035. A few years later he outgrown that camera and bought an SLR, an Olympus OM2n. The camera came with a 50mm standard lens. Later on, he added a Vivitar 70-200 zoom lens. Usually he made slides.

In order to be able to make pictures of our whippets on the race track, he sold his Olympus equiment and bought a Minolta Dynax 7xi with two lenses: a 28-80mm and a 80-200mm. It had a build-in motordrive.

When he made the step to the digital world, he bought a Minolta Dimage 7Hi. Most pictures you find behind the links are made with this camera. This is a good camera, but the autofocus is not good enough for moving dogs. And there is the shutterlag. So in Februari 2006, we decided to bite the bullet and buy a Nikon D70s. Hopefully, we can soon start using it.

We have a dedicated site to present our pictures: the Xian-Smugmug site. Among other things you will find there pictures of

  • Our dogs
  • Agility (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007)
  • Coursing and racing with sighthounds
  • Whippet shows
  • Other dogs activities
