The poster edition of the Pictures Of Stares album, made by Pol Matthé, Vaast Colson and ourselves was presented last week and will also be part of Vaast Colson's solo exhibition at Maes&Matthys Gallery, opening thursday January 29th. Please feel very very welcome there, in case you missed it. There's 40 pieces, all handmade and numbered, and there's still some left, so contact us if you're interested in getting one or come to the exhibition and talk to us.

In March, we'll tour the American West Coast, play Noise Pop in San Francisco with No Age, shows with Past Lives and on South By Southwest too with thousands of others. Devo for instance. Extremely looking forward to the fun. Get in touch if you think you can help us out with anything.

2008 was great (check the photo update we just did), we released Pictures Of Stares, played good shows all over Europe with fantastic bands (Thank you very much No Age, TV On The Radio, Constantines, Magik Markers, Heavy Indians, Orphan Fairytale, Lightning Bolt,.. Thank you very much Vincent Royers & Zoë Verkuylen!), the amazing video clip Tina Schott made for Children Inhale got selected for the Museek festival in Saint-Petersburg, we played on the roof of the Contemporary Art Centre in Vilnius-Lithuania with Building Transmissions and Jean (a 70 year old harmonica player) and Krist's solo space drum record recorded in the Teufelsberg got released by Curious. We even have a Facebook page now. And that's just us talking about us only, because there's so much more to be excited about.

What we still have in store before the end of the year is the beautiful documentation of the improvisation we did in Lithuania at the CAC. It is co-released by Crime Club Recordings (CCR5) and Curious (17), contains the full audio recordings and a foldout map of pictures from our trip and stay there, the work of Pol Matthé, Nico Dockx and Jochem Vanden Ecker. Nice. Just ask us how to get it or come to one of the shows.

Next year will be grand, we'll tour the American West Coast in March, play on Noise Pop with No Age and on South By Southwest too. And we'll release a new album, oh yes.

The video Tina Schott made for Children Inhale is selected for the first edition of the Museek video festival in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. It will be shown in a nice group of videos by Aphex Twin, Radiohead, Psychic TV, Sigur Ros, Supergrass,.. on Friday November 14th at 1:00 during the opening party. Neattt! All info here. Krist performed in Ghent on friday November 7th as part of a presentation of a vinyl the Curious label released of recordings they made of him playing in Berlin on top of the city. It is part of Nico Dockx' Teufelsberg project and he also "stars" in Anri Sala's new video work Answer Me. All of this was presented at the upper floor of the Boekentoren in Ghent, November 7th, between 19:00 and 22:00. No more info here. We might have some copies of the vinyl with us on tour, or just mail and ask to get one.

Our main man Pol Matthé has an exhibition at the Self Service gallery in Stuttgart, that opened friday November 7th and is running till November 28th. It is called Folding Out The Pages On The Folds Made. Go there if you're in the neighbourhood or if you have a car.

Our friend Tina Schott has an exhibition in Berlin at the moment, in the Zwanzigquadratmeter gallery. Get in touch with her if you happen to be there, we've seen it and it looks great.

Krist recently played an improvisational drum piece on and in the Teufelsberg in Berlin. It was recorded by Building Transmissions and will be part of the Floating Box of Nikolaus Hirsch at the Manifesta Art Biennal in Italy, which just opened and will be till November 2nd. A double onesided twelve inch record with the recordings will be released and presented on September 11th, but more news about that when it's there.

We played in Vilnius, Lithuania together with Building Transmissions on d-tuned acoustic guitar and prerecorded sounds and Jean on accordeon, which was fantastic.

On conseillera cette musique aux fans de Sonic Youth, de Girls against Boys, de Fugazi... Le genre de groupe qui me passionne et dont vous trouverez une interview sur www.devor-rock.be d'ici peu. Word was spread that their line-up included members of oldschool galore bands Building and One X More. Yet, hold your vegan horses, WCCC isn't your finger pointing youth crew band. They stepped up, rocked the show and left me behind with an overall warm feeling. The kids at Conspiracy Rcs must've thought likewise 'cause here they are presenting this 4 song mcd. Aan energie ontbreekt het ook niet bij het Belgische White Circle Crime Club dat met een prima, vier nummers tellende debuut-ep op de proppen komt. Een eerste kennismaking doet invloeden vermoeden in de richting van Sloy en Sonic Youth, maar er is gelukkig een tikkeltje meer aan de hand. Zo is 'Aufbau' een song met een weerhaak die met moeite het hoofd uit kan worden gedreven. Indruk maken doet deze club ook met 'The Perfect'. Het nummer kent een ietwat moeizame start; eens dat overwonnen blijft een kronkelige knoert van een song over. Niet al goud dat blinkt, maar na Hitch opnieuw een gitaarband van eigen kweek om in de smiezen te houden. (...), greenhell.de (d): Vielversprechende Band aus Belgien, die an viele Bands der Dischord-Schule aus den frühen 90ern erinnert. Laute, verzerrte Gitarren prügeln sich mit den Melodien und gradlinige Drums streiten sich mit gestörten freejazz-(un)artigen Parts. Die gesamte Band rastet komplett aus und findet sich ganz plötzlich in sanften Strukturen wieder. So als würde man Sonic Youth mit Q And Not U zusammen im Punk-Bett in flagranti ertappen. Ein großartiger Release auf Conspiracy Records, der dazu noch im Digipack mit schönem Artwork kommt. rifraf magazine (be): lang geleden dat conspiracy nog eens een band van eigen bodem getekend heeft, maar deze mag er alvast zijn. white circle crime club valt losjes te omschrijven als beïnvloed door fugazi, quetzal en international noise conspiracy met af en toe een snuifje cure, maar daar houdt het niet mee op. op deze ep duiken de leden enthousiast in hun uitgebreide verzameling niet-voor-de-hand-liggende riffs en tegendraadse breaks die ze energiek maar gecontroleerd rondstrooien, a rato van één dozijn of zo per nummer. ook de samen- (of misschien eerder tegen-) zang zorgt voor spannende momenten. vooral afsluiter "pretty vacant" (nee, geen sex pistols-cover) maakt indruk. binnenkort vertrekken de leden op een tour die hen heel europa zal doorvoeren en ik kijk alvast uit naar de full-length die daar ongetwijfeld op zal volgen. trust magazine (d) nr. 102/5 oktober november 2003: Ich höre san diego ohne die hektischen momente, ich höre grosse emotionen ohne leidvolle schwere, ich höre rock ohne schweinesülze, ich höre vertrackte andersartigkeit ohne störende unzugänglichkeit, ich höre verzweiflung und kampf ohne brutale schmerzen, ich höre anspruch ohne artsyness, ich höre rhythmus ohne hüftsteife, ich höre eine gute platte ohne wenn und aber.. all is good here and we mean that every time. we are currently finishing the mixture of our new album, getting it ready for mastering and all that jazz, 12 new songs, title and titles and info soon yes real soon. lots of the usual collaborators, actually.

in the meantime, for instance (just as an example), jan has been making playlists for sunday afternoons in brussels, invited by pol and vaast and lieven & our van broke down too.

you could listen to peter dwergenzaad's music, maybe.

2007 was fantastic, we toured europe & the uk w/ the blood brothers, played pukkelpop & more shows with great bands in general (liars, deerhunter, orphan fairytale,..), but also and mainly: we've been working very hard on a new album. more news about when and how and all that soon soon.
