With the original text in Spanish and a French translation (by Lucien Solvay) underneath. The Spanish text has been crossed out with a blue pencil but is still very readable. On some pages a red circular rubberstamp of the Madrid music editor F.Fiscowisch prohibiting the reproduction of the manuscript. This manuscript was adapted and used for the Brussels'production of the zarzuela San Antoniode la Florida, which took place at the La Monnaie operahouse in January 1905. (Southern Belgium, Northern France), 1710, manuscript on paper, (2)(title in red and black) + 360 pp + (11)nn pp + 17 pp (index) + (1)(additions to index) + (6)(blank), bound in contemporary black leather with brass clasps (one clasp missing), pages 10-13 a bit dustsoiled and frayed, but a nicely preserved manuscript. The manuscript contains the music for the Roman Catholic Sunday masses during the year, and also for the Saints. As indicated in the title the book was for the use of a sister of the Dominican order. This is further corroborated by the large title on pp 268 for the feast of Saint Dominique. The manuscript contains 9 staves to the page and is entirely written in black and red. Only p 268 contains a few blue letters and 1 gilt one. The text has been added to the staves in a very careful handwriting. Titles and initials are in red. At the end (unnumbered pages) is added a ''Missa Antverpiensis'' clearly in a later less careful handwriting. This hand made also some additions to the index. We have not been able to identify the original owner of the manuscript. Her name does not figure in the Monasticon Belge. In 1710 there were ca. 30 convents for female Dominicans on the actual Belgian territory. The Errembault family most probably originates from the Hainaut region. price: €1650.00 |

(ca. 1720), tall small In-4°, 26,4 x 10,4 cm, 12 nn pp of which 4,5 are written. Booklist in a neat handwriting compiled around 1705 and regularly updated until 1720 with one addition of 1734. The catalogue describes the publications in the possession of the Bailiff of Ghent. It lists mostly judicial pamphlets but it contains also some religious and political publications. Although the title of the list : ''Boecken, Printen Placcaten &c. ''omits the indication that it belongs to the Ghendt magistrate this is very obvious in the descriptions of the publications. E.g. on page 4 he notes that Martinus Caers (Gent bookdealer) has just published (Oct. 21st 1714) a tract on Saint-Luke (see this publication in Vanderhaeghen ''Bibliographie Gantoise'' Vol.III pp.20 No. 1920). Bound in contemporary red velvet , traces of green silk ties on both covers, paste downs are made of gilt tinsel paper. The red wax seal of the empress is kept in a metal box (diameter ca. 14 cm). Nicely preserved original Patent of Nobility with the autograph signatures of the empress Maria Theresa of Habsburg and her secretary Count Corneille de Neny in Vienna, other co-signatories in Brussels are De Grez , B.D. Sanchez de Aguilar , Swerts , Le Comte de Fraula... Gerardus van Asten son of Theodorus van Asten - notary at 's Hertogenbosch ( Brabant ) 1698-1721 and Geertruyt Coninghs. — Autograph letter, undated (1792), adressed to J.Drugman, Pensionnaire de la Ville de Bruxelles. Holograph letter, 2 pp in-4° , written in French, signed Elgin. Thomas Bruce Elgin had a diplomatic function in Brussels in 1792. His correspondent was a member of the Breda Committee, which under the presidency of Van der Noot organised the first overthrow of the Austrian Habsburg regime in the Southern Low Countries. In this undated letter Elgin tells of the different rumours in Flanders concerning the advance of the French troops. He speaks of the lifting of the siege of Ypres by the French. This lifting took place immediately after the capture of Courtrai by the French marshal Luckner (18th June 1792) so one can assume that the letter was written at the end of June 1792. Added is letter by the same in which he tries to organise a meeting with his correspondant. (the ink of this letter is very faded). Interesting letter from the man chiefly remembered for the Elgin Marbles which he brought over from Athens to the British Museum, written to a lawyer who took an active part in the Brabant Revolution and who is reported by Frenchs agents as protesting against the French occupation of Belgium after their victory at Jemappes (6th November 1792). The document was made up on the 4th of June 1749. Copy of the detailed inventory of the household effects with the authentic signature of the notary . The notary was Petrus Josephus Cools and he states at the end of the document that he signed it on 28th June 1749. Listed are: cash money, jewelry, goldsmith's work (3 pp silverwork), clothing, metalwork (pewter, copper, iron..) , furniture listed per room. In the ''in't sallet'' are described 137 paintings of Van Dyck, Rubens, Feijt, Teniers (30 items), Rembrandt, Breughel, Devos, Portrait of Jan Van der Linden, Cellebroeder (by Rubens)... All paintings are numbered in the list. Item 1 by Van Dyck is called: ''In den eersten eene Schilderije representerende eene Vrouwe met kindekien levensgroote geschildert Van Van Dijck''. The main part of the publication - over 400 pp - deals with the activity of Peregrine Bertie also called Lord Willoughby de Eresby ( 1555 - 1601 ). He came to Antwerp in 1582 in the company of the ''Duc d'Anjou'' and later served with the expedition of the Duke of Leicester in the Netherlands . When Leicester left the Netherlands he became commander in chief of the English troops, which he stationed in Geertruidenberg. He was also governor of Bergen op Zoom in 1586. Willoughby's letters and dispatches during this period are neatly summarized and fully indexed. — Patent of Nobility of Captain-Lieutenant Adelbert de Petit. Dated 2nd July 1774, Wien (Vienna) , with authentic signature of empress Maria-Theresia of Austria. (Vienna, 1774), original vellum document, German text, 15 pp + 1 pp with the registration on the heraldry roll in Brussels and Mechelen , dated 1775. 36 x 31 cm, with a full page watercolored design of the coat of arms, heightened with gold, first three page printed with an engraved border ( signed ''Fransciscus Mayer fecit 1757''), in the text the begin sentences are calligraphed. Bound in a red damask binding with yellow and black silk ties. The seal kept in a wooden turned box (diameter ca. 15 cm), the complete document is kept in the original purpose made metal box. Adelbert Petit was a captain-lieutenant in the 3rd Field-artillary regiment under command of Colonel Bärenkopp, stationed in Mechelen (Flanders). Added are 10 original letters and documents send and received by Le Petit which illustrate the process of acquiring his Patent of Nobility and the price he had to pay for it (admistrative costs, bookbinder's invoice, calligrapher etc.). Le Petit had at least one son (Pierre, born in Mechelen 1769), this son, according to a letter added was also serving in the Austrian army and stationed in Venice in 1834. Due to the fact that the document is kept in this metal box it is beautifully preserved. In our opinion a collection of the original patent of nobility with the added letters illustrating the acquisition process is not only rare but also very interesting. price: €4500.00 |

Dit manuscript, waarvan twee exemplaren gemaakt werden (zie nota pp.89b) is het exemplaar van Philippus Jacobus Benthuys. Het werd voor kwijting getekend door bisschop de Smet op de laatste bladzijde. Op het eerste blad vermeldt Benthuijs dat hij de rekeningen op het bisschoppelijk paleis heeft voorgelegd ''ghepresenteert in auditie bij den Rendant in persoon'' op 3 september 1735. Mooi en interessant document met gedetailleerde beschrijving en afrekening der inkomsten van de heerlijkheid van Sint-Baafs met als heer Joannes Baptista De Smet, bisschop van Gent, graaf van Everghem. De inkomsten hebben betrekking op renten, diensten en goederen gelegen te Gent, Akkergem, Sint-Amands, Zeveneken, Desteldonk, ... Het manuscript werd geschreven in een mooie hand, in grote letters. Deze hand schreef eveneens de vaste sommen en bedragen der renten. De gebeurtenissen hier beschreven leidden voor de eerste maal naar het machtsverlies van de Habsburgers. Vooraan is bijgevoegd een brief van Ferdinand Rapedius De Berg gericht aan de Landvoogden, Bruxelles, ce 13 Xbre 1791, ook de laatste pp is getekend door de auteur. Betreffende de tribulaties van Rapedius' manuscripten: zie Cuvelier in Biog. Nat. Vol.18 col.711-728. Volgens deze auteur berust een copie van dit manuscript in het Staatsarchief te Wenen. Manuscript in-folio, 33 x 19 cm, 14 loose leaves (28 pp of which 27 written) + in-f° quire of 20 pp + loosely inserted 1 leaf 17 x 11,5 cm. Probably unique catalogue of a book auction sale organised in Gent. The manuscript catalogue consists of 27 written pages with the books carefully described and listed according to format: 107 lots in-8°; 24 lots in- 4°, also maps & engravings. All the prices obtained are neatly written in ink. Added is a manuscript of 20 pp with the results of the auction of the house contents. Obviously all the belongings of Mad. D'Hane went under the hammer in an auction which lasted from August 31th until September 4th and comprised 10 sessions. The name of the buyers is recorded, among them Lammens, VanHoorenbeke, Goethals, Engel...The most expensive lot, Journal de Physique, d'Histoire Naturelle et des Arts, Paris from 1773 onwards in 34 vols was sold for 9.75 fl. . The 14 loose leaves a bit dusty, the furniture list with a serious dampstain with loss of paper in the lower margin, without however a loss of text. price: €600.00 |

Schovaerts kort en klein geslagen, en hij gaat nu over tot de expertise (adres rue d'évêque 39). Met: expertise van 7 mei 1834 door notaris J.B.J. Vanderlinden, voor P.G. Schovaers, manuscipt, 31 x 19.5 cm, 26 pp (1 bijna blanco). Zeldzaam document, getuige van de eerste belgische repressie tegen de Vlaams (Oranje) gezinden. In 1834 werden er gemeenteraadsverkiezingen georganiseerd in het nieuwe België. De huizen van de kandidaten der Orangistische partij werden overal in Vlaanderen geplunderd. Deze intimidaties leidden tot de terugtrekking der kandidaten, behalve in Gent. De Gentse Orangist Jozef van Crombrugghe won te Gent de verkiezingen maar de koning weigerde hem te benoemen. price: €100.00 |
