At a dog show we saw the beauty of the Irish Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier for the first time and we were immediately taken by their natural charm. Once we got settled in our own home we looked out to find a breeder of these dogs. After visiting some, we saw dogs with the so called American fur. Finally, our search brought us in contact with Marijke Van Donk and after an extensive discussion she exactly knew what we wanted. Of course, we had to wait until their were pups, but it was worth the waiting! After all, we were able to buy a beautiful pup and decided to call her Happy ... and that she was/is!

We go to the dog training school with Happy, where she immediately performed very well. Indeed, she got her certificate in the obedience programme in no time. Next, she went to the debutant programme and after several participations to competitions she was performing so well that the necessary point to move up a class were gathered in no time (you can visit her working page to see her results in Programme 1)! Recently, we started training for Programme 2 and although the exercises are very difficult, we are very confident in the final outcome! By the way, more about Happy's progress in Programme 2 can be found on the site as well.

Because we enjoyed Happy's presence so much, we bought a second Wheaten. By chance, Marijke just had two new litter of pups and the new pup was named Joy. She is now rapidly changing from a proud damsel into a lady. It is not yet decided in which discipline she will be trained, but a basic obedience course will certainly be the starting point.
